Safety training used to happen in a classroom. The instructor checked every ID at the door and made sure people were present and paying attention. If you couldn’t prove who you were, slept through it, or tried to cheat, you didn’t earn credit — and you had the uncomfortable job of explaining to your supervisor why. That cut both ways: the worker earned a real qualification, and the employer got a record they could trust. Integrity wasn’t a feature. It was the whole point.
Then training moved online. That was a good thing: it put high-quality, repeatable, reliable safety training within reach of workers everywhere. But two things happened that shouldn’t have. The cost never came down, even as the technology to deliver it got cheaper and cheaper. And the integrity disappeared. Once we left the classroom, no one could truly say who took the training. With the arrival of AI, you can no longer even be sure a human took it at all — courses can be completed by bots, in batches, by the hundreds.
That isn’t training. It’s training fraud — and it’s sitting in companies’ files right now, waiting for the day an incident, an insurer, or a regulator asks a question no one can answer.
We believe safety training is a critical control — one of the things standing between a worker and a serious injury or fatality.
